Using a trick to add texture, depth, and mixed reality.

Bronica SQ 105mm f3.5 – Kodak Tmax100 Texas A&M University College Station Texas December 2020

This is an example of adding depth, texture, and even movement, to an otherwise ordinary or dull picture. A tripod mounted camera and double exposure was utilized to capture this image.

The trick in this image was executed by taking the primary shot, focused on the subject matter (the pipes.) The second exposure was taken with the focus set to the chain link fencing. This gives the picture the sense that the fencing and the piping are together in focus, and the other elements are artifacts giving the picture an ethereal sense.
